a little history...
I came upon the title of Food Stylist in a very roundabout way. My college education bounced back and forth between a love for science and a passion for the arts. Shortly after graduating from a liberal arts college with a four-year degree, I decided to further pursue my education in the culinary arts. I couldn’t bring myself to decide between the exacting precision of pastries or the looser affair of cooking, so I chose a culinary school that taught both. I spent the next few years working a restaurant cooking line, catering, teaching recreational baking classes, and then most often, whipping up bread and pastries in a bakery setting.
Food styling fuses my competence in detailed work with my aptitude in the elements of design and creativity. My palette of experience most recently includes developing, testing, editing, and food styling recipes for various Taste of Home brand platforms including magazines, cookbooks and digital media. In addition to styling everything from a Thanksgiving turkey to slow cooker stews to festive cakes, I've also collaborated on stop motion, "how-to", advertorial, and Facebook video content.
Thank you for taking the time to look through my work. I'd love to work with you! Contact me here to collaborate on your next project.
